Where should you place a hummingbird house?

First of all, you should place a hummingbird house in a high place. Hummingbirds are very conscious of predators and elements such as the wind and rain. Moreover, you have to ensure that the house or nest provides shelter from predators.  It should be an egg-shaped house and you can place it under your roof or on a branch of a tree.

Many people also choose to hang a hummingbird feeder within a few feet of the house so that the birds have everything they need in one convenient location. Females are very selective in choosing where to build their nests. They will take great care in making sure they have food sources close by, and that no predators or weather elements will be able to disrupt their process.

The chances of the female reusing the nest time and again are pretty high so you may even find yourself with a resident hummingbird provided that you keep the conditions desirable.

The hummingbird is a stunning animal that many people want to attract to their yard.

Our hand-lathed hummingbird house is made from all-natural maple or cherry wood.  There are no chemicals or glues added that could be harmful to the hummingbird.  The lid completely lifts off for adequate cleaning.

Hummingbirds will add soft objects to the nest including, spider webs, animal fur and moss.  These objects will need to be cleaned out each season to avoid moisture and molding.

Each house will vary slightly due to each one being made by hand.
